Dragon Divas announce Allina Health Festival Sponsorship for 2025
For Immediate Release
Saint Paul, Minn. - Nov. 22, 2024 - The Dragon Divas of Minnesota today announced a significant sponsorship from Allina Health that will help increase the number of breast cancer survivors able to participate in Dragon Boat Festivals in 2025.
“This alliance complements the Dragon Divas’ commitment to welcoming all breast cancer survivors who want to lift their survivorship into “thriver-ship” with enhanced focus on physical fitness, team camaraderie, and support through the sport of dragon boating,” said Pat Owen, Dragon Divas Board Chair. “Many breast cancer survivors may never have participated in any type of sports before their cancer diagnosis, and they now have the opportunity to demonstrate how exercise can help reduce the chance of recurrence and bring more hope and joy to their lives.”
The Dragon Divas secured this title Festival Sponsorship with one of the leading providers of cancer care in Minnesota after Allina Health lifted up the story of the Dragon Divas in a recent media campaign that subsequently won a 2024 Regional Emmy award in the health/medical content sector. https://www.allinahealth.org/allina-news/2024/10/my-allina-health-story-series-earns-regional-emmy-award
“At Allina Health, we believe in treating the individual beyond their diagnosis and supporting their overall health and wellness,” said Dr. Liat Goldman, medical advisor to the Dragon Divas and medical director of the Cancer Rehabilitation Program at Allina Health. “The Dragon Divas are a wonderful example of how community connection and physical fitness can have positive impacts on a person’s mind and body during and after cancer treatment. We’re honored to be part of their team.”
As part of the Allina Health Festival Sponsorship of the Dragon Divas, Allina Health will have a brand presence at the Minnesota Dragon Boat Festivals attended by the Dragon Divas with opportunities for the community to learn more about breast cancer care available through Allina Health Cancer Institute. With treatment and support available at hospitals, clinics and treatment centers across the Twin Cities as well as regional locations in Minnesota and western Wisconsin, Allina Health Cancer Institute provides expert care, personal attention and ongoing support to cancer patients.
