Ways to Support Us

Your tax-deductible donation can immediately impact a breast cancer survivor and move them from not only surviving to thriving. With as little as $50 you can bolster our year-round physical activity opportunities, early-detection education and awareness efforts, and efforts in competitive dragon-boat paddling.

Every year we invest in:

• Physical training on water and off-season ($16,000)

• Paddling-related coaching, equipment purchases, dragon boat maintenance, storage and insurance ($6500)

• Scholarships for member dues and member festival participation ($100 - $350)

• Educational material production and distribution (ranges by venue)

• Festival entry fees (typically $500 - $800/boat; $2500/season)

You can support us through an immediate donation. While immediate cash donations are always useful and appreciated, a number of other opportunities exist to sustain our support for breast cancer survivors

Long-term investment is also required for a permanent home for our boats, equipment, and survivor training.  We currently rely on the generosity of community members to voluntarily house our equipment and provide land-based training of our members around the Twin Cities. A centralized storage and training facility can propel our success on and off the boat, enhancing our joyful survivorship and increasing the number of people aware of and acting to prevent breast cancer through early detection.

Are you a survivor or know of one? A financial gift to the Dragon Divas is a special way to honor a person in your life who has been impacted by breast cancer. Every year, and at every festival, we have a ceremony to honor women with a breast cancer diagnosis who are no longer with us or are currently battling breast cancer, yet inspire us with their spirits of tenacity and grace. Please consider an immediate or longer-term donation to the Dragon Divas. Inspire and challenge others to do the same! 

Are you interested in volunteering? The Dragon Divas work year-round to spread the word about early breast cancer detection, maintain and enhance their physical and social well-being, and support breast cancer survivors in the area. We volunteer our time and welcome other volunteers with a passion for our mission, a specific member, or dragon boat paddling! Specific ways to volunteer include involvement in: 

• Paddling season dragon boat launching, maintenance and storage (monthly, May to October)

• Special event planning, organizing, and onsite help (Oktoberfest, Friends and Family Picnic, spring plant sales, festivals, 20-year anniversary in 2026)

• Administrative and/or IT support for board meetings and functions (year-round and event-specific)

Web page support and communications (year-round and event-specific)
