Dragon Divas Win Team Award

By Cindi Fitch

The Minnesota Senior Sports Association (MSSA) is a non-profit corporation created to encourage and support men and women age 50 and older, to participate in amateur sports activity. Their organization seeks to promote mental and physical fitness by supporting individual and team sports participation and competition at all levels. Each year the MSSA promotes its mission by recognizing and honoring persons who have excelled in senior sports, persons whose actions have create opportunities for seniors to participate in sport activities and persons whose participation has been an inspiration for others.

The MSSA Team of The Year award has been given to the Dragon Divas MN. We are humbled by this award. The Dragon Divas are primarily women over 50, but unfortunately Breast Cancer is not age discriminate.  The Dragon Divas’ mission is so similar to the MSSA, that it was an honor to be chosen for this prestigious award. The Divas support a healthy and active life post breast cancer diagnosis, regardless of age, by paddling together in a dragon boat. Our time on and off the water is so very precious to each and every one of us, no matter what age we are, or at what stage in our cancer journey. We all appreciate the love and support of one another, and want to thank the MSSA for recognizing the Dragon Divas as a worthy recipient in 2024.
